Port Ellen Maltings Islay Case Study
The requirement was for a major upgrade to the existing control and monitoring system at Port Ellen Maltings
This included everything up to steeping the barley, the germinating kiln, storage, Barley & Malt movement.
The complete system was designed, installed and commissioned by Au Automation.
The system comprised of Schneider plc’s and a Schneider Asi monitor configured for 3 procedures:
- Handling the dry grain movement over 50+ silos
- Germination of the wet grain
- Kilning
The Top End was “In Touch” and every piece of equipment was able to communicate with each other.
